A leading north-west based retail organisation is seeking to bring in elements of its digital marketing activity in-house and has appointed Marketing Scout to scout-out a talented and highly proficient Digital Designer to join their internal marketing department.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must be both highly creative as well as technically and commercially savvy. The ideal candidate must have previous digital/e-Commerce design experience either working within another retailer or within an agency environment, preferably on retail or similar fast-moving accounts. For this role you must be self-proficient and have the ability to work on projects from initial design through to completion, including managing the HTML/CSS build.

If successful, your main responsibility will be to design, develop and implement the e-marketing activity to mirror the offline marketing campaigns to ensure they appear fully integrated across all media platforms. You will support the e-Commerce Content Manager in all aspects of web content management on the organisation’s e-Commerce website and blog, as well as being responsible for the design and build of email marketing activity to support the e-Commerce proposition, Brand Strategy and CRM strategy.

You will be expected to manage much of the activity internally, although you will also work with specialist digital agencies from time to time. You will be a key member of the internal marketing team, so strong team work and communications skills are vital.  

Skills wise, you will be technically proficient in HTML, CSS, SEO & Accessibility. Relevant software skills include knowledge of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator (WordPress, Quark, InDesign and Flash would be useful but not essential).
Design wise, you will be required to design from a lead creative or brief and be able to demonstrate a strong eye for design and detail and significant design agency/e-Commerce design experience (min 2/3 years) is essential.

  Prior experience of developing websites from design through to development along with experience in email design and build to distribution with knowledge of best practice is required. Further experience using CMS on e-commerce websites, and good copywriting skills would be advantageous.

Qualifications
